Exploring Stuttgart

A friend and I took part in a walking tour entitled Stuttgart after WW2.
We learned that during WW II, Stuttgart was attacked by 53 air raids, leaving the city in 5 million cubic meter of debris-45% of the city was destroyed. Our first stop was Rubble hill " Birkenkopf " or "Monte Scherbelino: to see some of the rubble left over and saw some views of the city below.
Then we ate at Brauerei Wirtshaus Sanwald  a local German restaurant, where I got a platter of different German yummies. Then after lunch we walked to the Lapidarium, which is a small hidden gem in Stuttgart-Sud (South) where artworks of all kinds are presented in a renaissance-style garden. While walking around the garden I felt like I was in Italy.
After the Lapidarium we walked over to see the Johanneskirche. It reminded me of Notre Dame, very pretty. One the way back to the car, we stopped at a donut place.
