Since we would be driving through Austria we needed a vignette or toll pass, which I got at our equivalent to an AAA in the states. Slovakia also required one but I was able to download an app and get a digital one. Covid regulation have eased so nothing extra was needed to be done. Bratislava is about 7 hours from the house, so we decided to break up the drive going there. After work we headed towards Munich, which is about 2.5 hours from the house. Since the previous day was Germany's Father's Day, the traffic wasn’t bad at all. We picked a Marriott hotel on the outside skirt of Munich which was dog friendly. We were welcomed with an upgraded room: a Junior suite and free breakfast. It pays to be a hotel rewards member. This gave us extra sitting room. The selling point of this hotel was there was lots of grass along the sidewalk and tons of places to walk the dogs. The next morning we checked out of Munich and headed towards Bratislava which was about a 5 hr drive. Traffic was not bad and we enjoyed the Austrian country side. Along the way we stopped to switch drivers. The rest stop we stopped at had a dog park for the dog. This is a first and the dog enjoyed all the new smells! It also had a few places to eat and a very clean bathroom. Its called Rosehill® Foodpark Haag if you ever in the area. From the we drove another few hours before arriving in Bratislava. We found the parking garage and checked in. We stayed at the Radisson Blu Carlton, which was located right next to Old Town. I picked a terrace room which gave a nice view of the square below. After resting, we went out to explore. Old town is right out of the hotel so it was crowded with people. We found an outside table at the Italian restaurant where we had an early dinner of pizza, pasta and salad. The next morning, we headed out early to see the sites and the crowds. We walked around Old Town taking in the sites. Later in the day, Mario and I went back out to check out some of the shops. The next morning we left early hoping to beat the traffic, but we hit some on the way out of the city. We arrived back home in the early afternoon. Another great trip in the books!
