A friend and I headed to Tübingen to explore their Umbrian-Provençal Market. On the way we passed Bebenhausen Monastery or Kloster Bebenhausen in German. It is one of the best-preserved Cistercian abbey in southern Germany. It is surround by the Schönbuch nature preserve and since I have never been we stopped to explore. From there we headed towards Tubingen. I learned from their website that Umbrian-Provençal Market is a yearly market. Here is a little history behind it from the website:( https://tuebingen-info.de/index.php?id=883); Since 1995 many traders from Tübingen’s twin-cities Aix-en-Provençe and Perugia have presented their provençal and umbrian specialities at over 100 stalls over the course of four days. According to the market orders, only typically regional and home-made/grown products are allowed to be displayed and sold. The food and drinks available also come exclusively from Umbria and Provençe.
We found parking and explored the food stalls which were set up in Old Town. There was French, German and Italian food. St. George's Collegiate Church's bell tower was open so we decided to explore. St. George's Collegiate Church is a gothic style church built in 1470. We got the see the crypt and the bell tower for 1euro. From the top of the tower we were welcomed with views of Tübingen below.
