Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time.
It is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. Sidney Harris

Just got back from spending a few weeks visiting family and friends in the states. I celebrated my nephew's first birthday and took him to his first Pirate's baseball game.
Mario and I had a few days to explore Portugal, which makes European country #19 for me. Our first stop was Porto which is the the 2nd largest city.
Over Spring break, I spent 8 days exploring the country of Morocco. Morocco is located on the northern part of Africa with Spain to its north and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
I have visited Venice twice before but only for the day and I wanted to explore more of the city, so I figured what better time than during Carnival. Carnival time which is 10 days before Shrove Tuesday, the start of Lent. Mario's work schedule didn't permit him to join, so I went on another solo trip
We were feeling the winter blues, so we decided we needed some fun in the sun and what better way than exploring an island! We took a morning flight to the island of Mallorca (Majorca) which is off the coast of Spain and part of the Balearic Islands.
A friend and I explored the city of Nördlingen and it's Christmas Market. It was about 2 hours from the house. It is another walled city on the Romantic Road. Interesting fact is it was established in a 15 million-year old meteorite crater, which gives the town its circular shape!
With the year slowly coming to a close, I wanted to add another country to my list. So Copenhagen, Denmark makes European country #17. With Mario away on business and already visited Copenhagen and the dogs at the sitter, I decided to travel solo.
Mario and I headed to Amsterdam for the weekend. We have both been there before but never together, so we decided to revisit and make new memories together. Our morning flight was about a hour which had us in Amsterdam before lunch.
I went on a field trip with my German class to the Frische Paradies here in Stuttgart. It is a market with a variety of gourmet items. It supplies food for the restaurants throughout Baden Württemberg, which is the county(state) we live in.
A friend and I headed to Tübingen to explore their Umbrian-Provençal Market. On the way we passed Bebenhausen Monastery or Kloster Bebenhausen in German. It is one of the best-preserved Cistercian abbey in southern Germany. It is surround by the Schönbuch nature preserve and since I have never been we stopped to explore.
Mario and I explore the Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival, which is about 45 minutes from the house. This is a yearly festival focused around pumpkins. Every year has a theme and this years was Pumpkin Forest.
We have been in our new place almost month and have been slowly exploring the nearby area. The dogs and I have used our morning walks to help us explore. At the bottom of the hill we live near is a playground for kids in addition to some paths.
The dogs and I took advance of nice but hot summer day by exploring the town of Dinkelsbühl. Dinkelsbühl is a walled city along the Romantic Road which was a former Free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire. It was about 2 hours from the house. As we explored we saw many sites that Dinkelsbühl had to offer. As the summer sun came out and warm things up, we had to cut our adventure short.
Wow, what a summer! It has been a busy one. My first adventure was flying home to met my nephew. Thomas Paul was born June 8. Let me just say I am head over heels in love with this little man. I was able to spend three weeks watching him grow and spending time with my sister and mom.
